Classic Car Reviews 1973 Ferrari 365 Gts 4

Deception! The 1973 Ferrari GTB/4 came in a convertible with hide away lights…during that era everyone knew that the street version of this car was a camouflage for what really was a race car underneath the light steel frame….The models that were made before 1971 did not come with the hide away lights….and at the time this car was primarily a “competition car”. This version of Ferrari was produced from 1968 to 1971. If you find one of these cars they are selling for close to a “MILLION” dollars. It was nicknamed the “Daytona” by race fans because it finished 1-2-3rd place in a 24 hour race held in an American City! It performed flawlessly with it’s 352 horsepower 12 cylinder engine during that race. It’s top speed during that time was a cool 280 km/h!…for the 1968 version. Each word or phrase in the cars title has a meaning such as: The GT represented “Gran Turismo” and GTB represented the Berlinetta or coupe. The GTS stood for open models which were either a targa roof or a full convertible. The “4” represented four cam engines…The “C” represented Competizione or it meant “Corsa” meaning race! During the lifespan of this particular model Ferrari from 1968 to 1974 there were 1,383 models created by the builder PINIFARINA. Below you will see what made this car so spectacular during it’s hey day! 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Year 1973 Make Ferrari Model 365 GTB/4 Body Style Coupe Engine Location Front Drive Type Rear Wheel Production Years for Series 1968 — 1974 Body Designer Pininfarina Price $25,350.00 Weight 2646 lbs | 1200.2 kg Introduced At 1968 Paris Motor Show Performance 0-60 mph 5.4 seconds. 1/4 Mile 13.4 seconds. This cars are not for the weak pockets!…nor are they to be taken lightly in the streets or on a race track!…In a word they simply “Perform”!…very gracefully!…and with high distinction! For all those who own one already and for the future owners you know you should try living near a race track or some where in Germany near the Autobahn’….because if you own one of these jewels you know that you will kill this car driving around town everyday at 35mph!
